Cutting

A thin, flexible blade with fine teeth that cut on the pull stroke, on a long straight handle - the Japanese pattern. Because the blade is under tension while cutting it can be very thin, so the kerf is narrow and the cut is clean. Many have crosscut teeth on one edge and rip teeth on the other.
Buying tip
Japanese-style saw that cuts on the pull stroke — thin kerf, clean finish and trim cuts.
